Displayed is a varied and fascinating Bobby Orr collection, a potpourri of 95+ items, including scarcities, signatures, and photos that reflect on Orr's Hockey Hall of Fame career from almost every angle. As an attacking defenseman, the incomparable Orr was a strategic revolutionary who changed the very nature of a hockey attack. Of course, defensemen had been part of a hockey attack since the NHL's early days, but no one had ever become the quarterback, the point guard, of an offense in hockey as did Bobby Orr. Orr played 12 NHL seasons, with his first ten years with the Boston Bruins (1966-67 through 1975-76) and his final two seasons (1976-77 through 1977-78), in very limited play, for the Chicago Black Hawks. He was the key player on two Boston Bruins Stanley Cup winners, in 1969-70 & 1971-72. Orr was the first defenseman to ever lead the NHL in scoring, as he tallied 120 points on 33 goals and a league-leading 87 assists in 1969-70 to win the Ross Trophy. He won another Ross Trophy in 1974-75, with 46 goals, 89 assists, and 135 points. Among Orr's myriad trophies are three Hart Trophies as the NHL MVP, and eight Norris Trophies as the NHL's best defenseman. The offering: 1) A 1970s Bobby Orr original Type I black & white photograph taken by Fred Keenan, of the Patriot-Ledger. The 7x9.5" photo has been encapsulated and PSA Certified as TYPE I AUTHENTIC. 2) A 1971 Type I original CBS 6.9x9.1" color photograph of Bobby Orr and Gordie Howe. 3) Two 45 RPM records: From Hockey Records - On the "A" side - "Wondrous Bobby Orr" and on the "B" side - "That Boston Dandy," and from RCA Victor the same two recordings. 4) A 7.8x9.9" Bobby Orr color photo, signed and inscribed by Orr showing him in action near the blue line. 5) A 8.5x11" black & white signed photo of Orr on ice, with a PSA Certificate of Authenticity. 6) A 1984 program, measuring 8.3x10.9", from the Los Angeles Senior Kings Old-Timers Invitational Hockey Tournament with Orr on the cover, and although he had retired from NHL play after the 1978-79 season, Orr was featured in the program as a player. 7) A 1971 5.5x11.5" program from The Boston Bruins and Celebrity Golf Tournament. 8) A sheet of 12 hockey player "stamps" including four Orr stamps, plus other Hall of Famer stamps, with Wayne Gretzky and Sidney Crosby. 8) A 9.75x9.75" artistic rendering of Orr, in black on a yellow background on cloth, framed to 11x11". The total offering includes many more programs, and photos, with a number of additional Orr signatures. The condition of the many items varies, with some items having some small stains, minor tears, and folds, and many other items in very nice condition. The offering provides a treasure trove of Bobby Orr memorabilia.
