Displayed is a rare 1970s Bobby Orr Canadian Whiskey advertising mirror, with these mirrors only given to bars and distributors of Canadian Whiskey. Orr was a Hall of Fame defenseman who actually revolutionized hockey as a high-scoring backliner who was the focal point of the Boston Bruins offense in the 10 seasons he played for Boston (1966-67 through 1975-76). Never before had a defenseman been such a focal point of a team's attack. Orr finished his 12-season NHL career with two seasons of very limited play with the Chicago Blackhawks in 1976-77 through 1977-78. The amazing Orr led the Bruins to Stanley Cups in 1970 and '72. The 9-time All-Star was a 3-time Hart Trophy winner, a 2-time Ross Trophy recipient, an 8-time Norris Trophy winner, a 2-time Smythe recipient, and also a winner of both a Pearson and a Calder Trophy. Orr played 657 NHL games, with 270 goals and 645 assists for 915 points. The advertising mirror measures approx. 15.6x19", framed to approx. 18.1x22". There is an image of a very young Orr stylishly dressed in a white turtleneck and a blue dress jacket. Also pictured is a bottle of Canadian LTD Whiskey and a highball glass of Canadian Whiskey on the rocks. Near the bottom of the mirror is a facsimile Bobby Orr signature and inscription reading, "Best of Luck Bobby Orr." Orr's ring finger seems to be sporting a Stanley Cup ring. The upper left corner has a very small "glass bubble" and the lower right seems to have some small scuff marks on the image of the Orr sports jacket under the glass. Overall, the offering is in very nice condition and makes an unusual and rare display for any sports collection.
