Full size Spalding bat commemorating a testimonial dinner held in honor of John McGraw's New York Giants in 1929. The stamping on the barrel reads "Loyal Giants Rooters Dinner/To/John J. McGraw And The 1929 Giants/New York April 14 TH. 1929." The Spalding logo appears both within the center brand and on the knob. This is one of several examples of this bat we have seen, which indicates they were most likely distributed to dinner attendees as a souvenir. The bat (35" in length), which is not cracked, displays heavy wear/use, including numerous chips, areas of wood loss on the back of the barrel, and grain separation. Fair to Good condition.
