A Los Angeles Dodgers batting helmet worn by Hall of Fame catcher Gary Carter. The size 7 3/8 helmet was made by American Baseball Cap and shows excellent use with pine tar stains on the outer shell. The back of the helmet has American and Canadian flag stickers and the ABC company logo. Carter spent the majority of his career with the Montreal Expos and New York Mets, making 11 All-Star teams and winning the World Series in 1986 with the Mets. He spent the 1991 season with the Los Angeles Dodgers and this helmet comes directly from the Carter family. The catcher, who was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2003, passed away from cancer in 2012.
