Presented is a multi-signed Reach Official League Baseball that was autographed by two San Francisco area legends: Hall of Famer Joe DiMaggio and his friend, Lefty O'Doul. DiMaggio came from Martinez, California - a town near San Francisco, and Joe's family had a fishing boat that operated from San Francisco's Fisherman's Wharf. DiMaggio played for the San Francisco Seals, of the Pacific Coast League, and he was managed by O'Doul. DiMaggio played for 13 Major League seasons (1936-42 & 1946-51), all with the New York Yankees. Joe missed the 1943-45 seasons because he was in the U.S. Army during World War II. DiMaggio batted a career .325, with 361 home runs, and he was an outstanding center fielder. He was a 3-time AL MVP and helped the Yankees to nine World Championships. Francis "Lefty" O'Doul was born in San Francisco, and he went on to play for the San Francisco Seals. He was a relief pitcher in the Major Leagues with the New York Yankees and the Boston Red Sox from 1919-23. After hurting his arm, he went back to the Pacific Coast League with the San Francisco Seals and learned to become a hard-hitting outfielder. He returned to the Major Leagues as an outfielder with the New York Giants in 1928. Later, he won two National League batting titles: one with the Philadelphia Phillies and the other with the Brooklyn Robins. His lifetime batting average of .349 is the highest for any Hall of Fame qualifying player not elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame. O'Doul was elected as the first American in the Japanese Baseball Hall of Fame, as a result of being a key part of several baseball tours of Japan, before and after World War Two. O'Doul's signature, in blue fountain ink, is mostly to the left of the sweet spot, and DiMaggio's signature, in green fountain ink, is signed on a side panel. A third signature, from a Joe G., is faintly written and difficult to read. The ball has light shellac; otherwise, the ball is in very good condition. Full LOA from PSA.
