Displayed is a 1931 New York Yankees team-signed baseball with the signatures of Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig, plus three other Hall of Famers (12 signatures in total). The 1931 Yankees finished in second place in the American League, sporting a 94-59-2 record. Including Hall of Fame manager Joe McCarthy, the team had ten Hall of Famers: Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Earle Combs, Bill Dickey, Lefty Gomez, Tony Lazzeri, Herb Pennock, Red Ruffing, Joe Sewell, and McCarthy. Ruth and Gehrig both had tremendous seasons: Ruth batted .373 with 46 home runs and 162 RBIs; Gehrig batted .341, also with 46 home runs, and he added 185 RBIs. Gomez led the pitchers with a 21-9 record, with a 2.67 ERA. Visible on the ball are the signatures of five Hall of Famers: Ruth, Gehrig, Combs, Lazzeri, and Pennock. In addition, the signatures include Yankee players Art Jorgens and Lyn Lary. The aforementioned seven players' autographs are the only signatures fully visible on the OAL Harridge ball. The ball exhibits significant darkening of the skin, and fading of the signatures, but the ball is in overall very good condition. The offering is encased in a removable 2.25x2.25x2.25 clear plastic cube. On the display cube is a plaque reading, "1931 New York Yankees." The autos are 5/10 overall. Full LOA from PSA.
