Presented is a circa 1910 original Type I photo of Boston pitcher Eddie Cicotte, the photo by Paul Thompson that was used for Cicotte's T205 card image. Cicotte was a right-handed pitcher known for his knuckleball. He pitched for 14 years in the Major Leagues: Detroit Tigers (1905), Boston Red Sox (1908-12), Chicago White Sox (1912-20). He had a 208-149 lifetime record, with a career 2.38 ERA. He helped the White Sox to win the 1917 World Series and he also was the American League's ERA Champion in '17 with a 1.53 ERA. He won at least 20 games in a season on three occasions. He was one of the eight Chicago White Sox players banned for life by Baseball Commissioner Kenesaw Mountain Landis for his alleged connection with a plan to throw the 1919 World Series. The 5x7" black & white photo was shot by Paul Thompson, whose copyright stamp is on back. Also, on back is "Cicotte Boston Americans" written in pencil by an unknown hand. The photo shows some slight darkening from the passage of time, but is in otherwise EXCELLENT condition. The photo has been encapsulated and PSA Certified as Type I AUTHENTIC.
