Collection of seven outstanding original film negatives, each taken by noted Chicago baseball photographer George Burke, and each featuring a Hall of Fame player or umpire. The collection consists of the following: Gabby Hartnett (Chicago Cubs), Bill Klem (umpire), Mickey Cochrane (Philadelphia A's), Bob Feller (Cleveland Indians) Hack Wilson (Chicago Cubs), Jessie Haines (St. Louis Cardinals), and Rabbit Maranville (Boston Braves). Positive attribution to Burke can be made due to the various inventory numbers written along the top borders (the inventory number sequences seen here are typical for Burke and can be found on many of his negatives and finished photos). Since Burke was based in Chicago, which hosted two Major League clubs, he had access to all the Major League players during his long career. Each negative (5x7"), displays minor edge wear.
