Presented is a 2009 Australian Open Roger Federer signed match worn sneaker. Federer played professionally from 1998-2022. The Swiss star was ATP number 1 men's singles player in the world for 310 weeks, including a record 237 consecutive weeks. He finished the year as the World's top-ranked player in five different years. He won 103 singles titles on the ATP Tour, the most of all time. He has 20 Grand Slam wins, and his winnings total $130,594,339, the third highest in history. The 2009 Australian Open was played in Melbourne, Australia, from Jan. 19th to Feb.1st. In an epic battle for the Australian Men's Singles Title, Federer faced Rafael Nadal, of Spain. In an epic struggle lasting four hours and 23 minutes, Nadal won in five sets: 7-5, 3-6, 7-6(3), 3-6, 6-2. It was the first time Nadal had won a Major on hardcourt. At the trophy presentation after the finals, Federer, who had hoped to win a then-record 14th Major, was seen in tears. The offered sneaker is for the right foot; it is a Nike Zoom Flywire model, in a men's size 12. The outside lower right side of the sneaker reads, Fit Frame, NIKE ZOOM, and LUNARLITE. There is a large, blue Nike Swoosh on the outside right. Also on the right side is a small blue Swoosh just below the white laces, and a large blue Swoosh on the left outside. The right side also has three small red circles, with a white "+", and the consecutively numbered 04, 05, and 07, and these numbers match the years that Federer had won the Australian Men's Singles Crown up to the point to when the sneakers were manufactured. Above the heel is the letter "F" in blue. On the top of the tongue is also the letter "F" in blue. Underneath this is machine printed ZOOM VAPOR TOUR. Federer has signed the sneaker on the right side, using a fine tip blue marker. His signature is big and bold. On the sole of the sneaker is another blue Swoosh, and a small orange section reading NDR. On the left side on the bottom of the heel a small section of approx. 0.5x1" is missing. There are a few small light stains from use. The sneakers came from a Nike employee who helped design the sneakers and was gifted one from each of the players after the match. With the exception of the aforementioned minor imperfections, the sneakers are in excellent condition.
