Pair of original glass negatives, produced by renowned baseball photographer Charles Conlon, each picturing Hall of Fame pitcher Dazzy Vance as a member of the Brooklyn Robins in 1930. The first captures a smiling Vance as he poses on the field in his home uniform. "Arthur C. Vance (Bklyn) 30" is written in black ink along the top border. Accompanied by its original paper sleeve bearing Conlon's handwritten notes on the front that read "Arthur C. (Dazzy) Vance - Brooklyn - Smiling Face - 30." The second negative pictures Vance warming up on the sideline prior to a road game. "Dazzy Vance (Bklyn) 30" is written in black ink along the top border. Accompanied by its original paper sleeve bearing Conlon's handwritten notes on the front that read "Dazzy Vance - Brooklyn - Pitching 30." Even without the year provided by Conlon on both the negative and sleeve, the image could still be dated to 1930 because the road uniform seen here was worn by Brooklyn only during that season. Each negative (4x5") remains in Excellent condition.
