Displayed is a Brook Fordyce Baltimore Orioles signed Turn-Back-the Clock jersey from July 18, 2001. Fordyce was a catcher in the Major Leagues for five teams from 1995-2004. For his career, he hit .258, with 41 home runs and 188 RBIs. He played for the Baltimore Orioles from 2000-03. In 2001, when this jersey was issued, Fordyce batted .209, with five homers and 19 RBIs. Although he was usually the starting catcher on the '01 Orioles, Fordyce did not play in the game of July 18, 2001. The Orioles lost that home game, at Oriole Park at Camden Yards, by a 6-4 score to the Pittsburgh Pirates. The orange jersey has Orioles across the chest in sewn-on black script with white trim. Beneath the team's name is 22 in sewn-on black numerals with white trim. The outside front left tail has a Cooperstown Collection (by Mitchell & Ness) manufacturer's tag, with an affixed MLB AUTHENTIC GAME USED Hologram (issued in error, as Fordyce did not play in the game). Adjacent to the manufacturer's tag is a strip tag reading 7-18-1, which designates the date of the Turn-Back-the-Clock Jersey night. In the collar is a Mitchell & Ness manufacturer's tag and a tag showing the jersey is 100% nylon, exclusive of decoration. The back has FORDYCE in sewn-on black letters and beneath the player's name is 26 in sewn-on black numerals with white trim. Using a fine tip black marker, Fordyce displayed his ingenuity by signing his name as "Brook 4-Dyce." The jersey is in fine condition.
