Modern commemorative leather football helmet signed on the exterior by seven participants in the 1953 NFL Championship game between the Detroit Lions and Cleveland Browns, six of whom are members of the Hall of Fame. The seven signers, many of whom have added additional notations next to their name, are: "Dante Gluefingers Lavelli HOF 1975" (Browns), "Lou Creekmur HOF 96" (Lions), "Joe Schmidt HOF 73" (Lions), "Frank Gatski HOF 1988" (Browns), "Bill Willis HOF 77" (Browns), "Jim David #25" (Lions), and "Dorne Dibble #87" (Lions). All the signatures are scripted in black marker and grade 9/10 on average. An additional notation on the helmet, written in black marker in an unknown hand, reads, "1953 Lions/1953 NFL Champs/Lions 17/Browns 16."
