Original Type I photograph capturing Babe Ruth at the plate during the 1927 World Series. Ruth is pictured in his follow-through swing as he tracks the path of the ball with his eyes. An International Newsreel paper news caption, dated 10-8-27, is taped to the reverse. According to the caption, Ruth is pictured here rapping a single in the first inning of Game 4, with the hit scoring Earle Combs with the tying run. The Yankees won Game 4 by a score of 4-3, which gave them the sweep of the Series and their first of two consecutive World Championships. The photo (10x8") displays an approximate two-inch vertical tear at the base that has been repaired with clear tape on the reverse. Very Good condition overall.
