1969-72 Ron Swoboda New York Mets game used bat is a rare gamer from one of the heroes of the 1969 Miracle Mets. Louisville Slugger has model number G69L etched into the knob, which also has the number 4 written in black marker. Bat measures 35.0" and weighs 33.7 ounces, and displays great use with a cracked handle (secured by a vintage piece of white tape), ball marks and stitch impressions, and a light coat of pine tar. While this bat has been designated as being from the 1969-72 labeling period, the number "4" on the knob is significant as he only wore that number with the Mets, narrowing it to the '69-70 period. Swoboda earned the nickname "Rocky" in deference to his less-than-soft hands on defense, though he turned that nickname on its head with one of the most memorable defensive plays in World Series history. His full-extension diving catch in Game 4 of the '69 series helped secure a crucial win for the Amazin's, who went on to win the next game, stunning the Baltimore Orioles in a five-game series victory. Comes with PSA/DNA LOA designating this as GU 9.
