He was known as "Larry Legend" and "The Hick from French Lick" and Hall of Famer Larry Bird blazed across the NBA sky for 13 years, all of them as a Boston Celtic. As described by sportswriter Gene Wojciechowski, of the Los Angeles Times, the event was, "A combination of Celtic pomp and circumstance, the basketball equivalent of a Kennedy wedding." The aforementioned newspaper article provides a thorough review of the ceremony: Numerous Celtic greats were there - John Havlicek, Bill Sharman, Tiny Archibald, Tom Heinsohn, Dennis Johnson, K.C. Jones, Bill Walton, and Cedric Maxwell, to name just a few. Announcer Bob Costas was the master of ceremonies, and the evening was a sellout of all 14,890 seats in the Boston Garden. The ticket has been encapsulated and PSA graded as FULL NM-MT. The gorgeous ticket is full and unused. It is difficult to find in high grades because of its size.
