Ty Cobb, "The Georgia Peach" is an Inaugural Hall of Fame inductee and a baseball immortal who still holds the highest lifetime batting average in baseball history at .366. Presented is a Ty Cobb signed index card, with Cobb's signature written in green ink, Cobb's trademark. Cobb played in the Major Leagues from 1905-28: Detroit Tigers (1905-26), Philadelphia Athletics (1927-28). A center fielder, Cobb won an amazing 12 American League batting titles, and twice batted over .400. He retired while still holding the all-time MLB records for hits (4,189) and stolen bases (897). Cobb signed with his given name as "Tyrus Cobb." His strong signature is on the blank side of a 3x5" card. In the upper left corner, the blank side of the card has an approx. 1.4x1.4" inch nice black & white Cobb photo that was cut from a newspaper or magazine and affixed to the card. The initially blank side shows some minor darkening and slight foxing that is to be expected because of the passage of time. The lined side of the card has "Cobb" printed in pencil by an unknown hand. The index card has been encapsulated and PSA/DNA certified as AUTHENTIC AUTO.
