Displayed is an April 5, 2009, Joe Blanton autographed, Philadelphia Phillies' Opening Day game worn home jersey that absolutely sizzles with eye appeal. Blanton pitched for 13 seasons in the Major Leagues, with seven teams. He was with the Phillies from 2008-12, and he had an MLB career record of 101-97, with a 4.38 ERA. In 2009, Blanton went 12-8, with a 4.05 ERA. The Phillies went 93-69 in the regular season for 1st place in the NL East and they reached the World Series, losing 4-2 in games to the New York Yankees. The pinstriped jersey pops, with a rare one-game style that is both vintage and yet modern. "Phillies" is scripted across the chest, with sewn-on red letters, blue stars sewn-on to dot the letter "I" and glistening, splashy, gold-colored edging around the team's name. On the left outside tail is a Majestic/MLB Authentic Collection sticker that shows size 50. Along the left side, outside seam is a Majestic "Cool Base" tag. An MLB tag is on the back of the neck. "Blanton 56" is on back, in red letters and numerals, with gold edging. Number 56 also appears on the left sleeve, in red numerals, with gold edging. A "World Series Champions 2008" patch is on right sleeve, also with gold edging. All of the beautiful gold edging was worn only for this Opening Day Game. The interior wash tag is coded "0063." Blanton signed on the front number in black marker, with his signature rating 8 out of 10 and inscribed "Game used 09 WS Champs 08." The jersey has an MLB hologram. This Blanton-signed jersey from a Phillies' pennant-winning season is enhanced by the visual red, blue, and gold splendor of such a unique, ornate jersey.
