New Jersey Nets road jersey worn by point guard John Bagley during the 1987-1988 season. The blue mesh jersey, with red and white accents, is lettered "Nets" across the front and features the number "5" on the front and reverse. "Bagley" is lettered on the reverse, directly above the number. "New Jersey" is lettered vertically down the left front side of the jersey. All letters and numerals are applied in white tackle twill. Located on the left front tail are a "Sand-Knit 42" label, an "87" year tag, a white strip tag reading 1" LB, and a second Sand-Knit label reading in part "Designed & Tailored Exclusively for the New Jersey Nets." The jersey is original as issued and displays moderate wear, including a few loose threads. The 1987-1988 season was Bagley's first year with the Nets. Playing in all 82 games for the first and only time of his career, Bagley averaged a career-high 12 points per game. For his efforts, Bagley was rewarded by the Nets with a multiyear contract extension prior to the start of the 1988 season. Bagley retired after the 1993-1994 season with 5,802 points and 3,980 assists.
