On May 28, 1962, at the Sports Arena in Los Angeles, the “Ole Mongoose” Archie Moore squared off against Willie Pastrano. Both of these men had held the World Light Heavyweight Title and Moore was the current titleholder. Pastrano had recently moved up to fight as a heavyweight so this fight was a non-title affair. Moore was always difficult to fight, but so was the slick left-handed Pastrano and neither man could gain a definitive advantage. The fight was declared a draw after 10 rounds. Presented here is an official on-site poster to the event. The poster pictures both fighters and Joe Louis who was involved in the promotion. The poster is cardboard and measures 28x22.” It has edge and corner wear and has been creased. There is some discoloration from age and light staining. Archie Moore posters are quite scarce especially when fighting someone of Pastrano’s importance. Signed by Moore and Pastrano in black marker (grading 8/10 on average) next to their respective images. Full LOA from PSA.
