Vintage photograph capturing Babe Ruth as a member of the Boston Red Sox in 1918. Ruth is pictured in uniform as he warms up on the sideline prior to a game. An "Acme Newspictures" credit stamp appears on the reverse, along with the original paper news caption, dated "8-11-48." This is one of many images of Ruth featured in newspapers across the country in August, 1948, that accompanied news of his deteriorating health and imminent demise. Ruth died just five days later on August 16th. The photo (7x9") displays light creasing and editorial markings on the front. PSA encapsulated as Type IV Authentic.
