Vintage document signed and handwritten by the 9th President of the United States, William Henry Harrison, dated at top "Greenville 21st July 1795." Cut from a larger page, this piece measures 7.5x2.25" and is written in black fountain ink; Harrison's text reads, "The company will issue for the Delawares nine pounds of flour and beef, WH Harrison A.D.C." Signed on back by "Robert Wilson." Harrison was 22 years old at the time and signed the Treaty of Greenville just two weeks later, on August 3rd, which ended the Northwest Indian War. Harrison - the last US President born as a British subject in the original 13 colonies - had the shortest presidency in U.S history, succumbing to what was diagnosed as pneumonia just 31 days after assuming the office and causing some consternation as the succession process had not yet been written into the Constitution.
