Rare large segment of the original Fenway Park "Green Monster" wall. This piece was originally purchased through The Jimmy Fund, which sold pieces of the "Green Monster" to raise money for its organization. (The Jimmy Fund was established in 1948 to raise money for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston; the organization has always had close ties to the Boston Red Sox.) Most of the "Green Monster" wall pieces sold through the Jimmy Fund were small, so that they could maximize the return. However, a few larger pieces were also made available to collectors, of which this is one. The wall section (9.5x9.5") is housed in a custom-made green frame covered by Lucite that bears an illustration of Fenway Park and the printed text "Fenway Park 1976 - 'Green Monster'/Authentic Piece of the Old Left Field Wall."
