One-page handwritten letter, dated December 25, 1965, signed by Jackie Robinson. PSA has encapsulated the letter and certified the signature and handwriting as Authentic. In his letter, written on Christmas Day to his good friends Blanche and Bob Campbell, who live in California, Robinson laments that Christmas wasn't the same without his son Jackie Jr., who was serving in Vietnam. In part: "Christmas was here but not the same as in previous years. With Jackie in Viet Nam (sic) it didn't have the same cheerfulness as in the past. We all shared our presents but a great deal was missing. We had some satisfaction in knowing that the truce gave our boys a peaceful, though lonesome, Christmas. We can only pray that God continues to look after him and the others." Signed simply "Jackie" in blue ink. Both the text and signature grade 8/10. The letter (8.5x11") displays two horizontal folds and a few light creases.
