Vintage glass plate duplicate negative capturing Babe Ruth as a member of the New York Yankees sliding into home plate during a game. While there is no signal yet by the umpire, the fact that the catcher securely has the ball and is applying the tag in front of the plate, we can only assume that Ruth was out on this play. No year is listed, but since neither the Yankees player watching the play nor the catcher appear to have a number on their jersey, the image must date prior to 1929 (the Yankees were the first Major League team to wear numbers in 1929). The negative (5x4") displays production number along the left border and remains in Excellent condition. Accompanied by a small positive photo of the image printed on paper.
