Game issued jersey predates the rookie season of New York Rangers 1994 first round draft pick, goaltender Dan Cloutier. White top has Starter "58-G" tag in neck, and inside tag under tail reads, "NYR, 1996-97 Season, MGS #100728, Mike Folga #073-." RANGERS is diagonally-stitched across the chest in 3-D style blue-on-red letters, number 34 is on shoulders and back, name is stitched directly to the jersey in same 3-D style letters and numbers. Though he was in the Rangers farm system, he did not play in the '96-97 season, so this may have been created in case he was called up as an emergency backup. Cloutier saw limited action on Broadway as backup to Hall of Fame netminder Mike Richter, though he did enjoy some success as a starter for the Vancouver Canucks, and he totaled 109 career wins with a solid 2.76 goals against average. Comes with MeiGray LOA indicating that this jersey was "prepared for use" in the '96-97 season.
