Magnificent image captured by a photographer with Acme Newspictures during spring training of 1938. Four-time All-Star Pepper Martin lays out for a diving catch while using his right hand to brace his landing as his Cardinals got ready for the season, one which saw the Redbirds finish in the second division. The PSA Type I photo measures 8x6" and is one of the best taken of the 1931 World Series hero who spearheaded the Cards' upset of the Philadelphia A's.
