Juan Marichal H&B pro-model ("U1") bat dating from the 1973 season. Graded GU 9.5 by PSA. Juan Marichal game-used bats are among the rarest of all modern-day Hall of Famers. This is not only the first we have ever offered, but the first we have ever seen, and one would be hard pressed to find a finer example. The bat, which measures 35 inches and weighs 34.3 ounces, is not cracked and displays outstanding use throughout, including numerous ball marks on the barrel and rack marks on the handle. 1973 marked Marichal's fourteenth and final season with the San Francisco Giants. During that span, Marichal won 238 games, including six seasons of 20 wins or more, and three seasons of 25 wins or more. While Marichal's hitting skills lagged far behind those he displayed on the mound, he still managed to record 13 hits in 69 official plate appearances in 1973, most of which were probably recorded with this bat. This is an outstanding Marichal bat in all respects and one that most likely represents a "holy grail" for all advanced Hall of Fame bat collectors. Full LOA from PSA (GU 9.5).
