Brooklyn Dodgers ticket stub issued for a game against the Philadelphia Phillies on September 22, 1957, in which Roy Campanella recorded the final hit of his career and Duke Snider hit two home runs to become the first National League player to record five consecutive seasons with 40 or more home runs. PSA has encapsulated the ticket stub and certified it as "Authentic." This is one of just eight examples of this stub listed in the PSA Population Report (six are certified as "Authentic" and two are graded). Obviously, no one in attendance that day could have realized that thew were witnessing the final hit of Campanella's career, since he was by no means ready for retirement. Unfortunately, his career was tragically cut short four months later when he was involved in an automobile accident that left him paralyzed from the neck down. The ticket stub (1.25x2.5") displays a light-to-moderate horizontal crease and is in Good to Very Good condition.
