Perfection is hard to find in any endeavor, and in baseball pitching, in a World Series, it has occurred only once - on October 8, 1956, at Yankee Stadium, when the New York Yankees' right-hander, Don Larsen, crafted baseball perfection against the Brooklyn Dodgers. Presented is a chance to connect to that day of baseball magnificence by possessing a Don Larsen signed "Perfect Game" ticket stub. In 1955, the Brooklyn Dodgers defeated the Yankees to win the Dodgers only Brooklyn World Series Championship. In the '56 World Series, the Yankees were facing Brooklyn again, and the Bronx Bombers were thirsting for revenge. In Game 5, Larsen, who had pitched poorly in his only two previous World Series appearances, made the start against a Dodgers lineup that included five future Hall of Famers: Pee Wee Reese, Jackie Robinson, Gil Hodges, Duke Snider, and Roy Campanella. Larsen, who reportedly was out late the night before the game imbibing fluids at a New York City watering hole, was brilliant. He threw only 97 pitches, and only went to three balls on one batter. In the top of the ninth, Larsen retired Carl Furillo on a fly to right field, got Campanella to ground out to second, and then had to face pinch hitter Dale Mitchell, one of the most difficult men to strike out in baseball history. Mitchell struck out - looking - and Larsen had accomplished a feat that has never been repeated - a perfect game in the World Series. The Yankees went on to win the Series in seven games. Larsen used his prefect game throwing right hand to sign the 2.25x4.25" ticket stub in bold, and neatly scripted, blue marker. The colorful ticket stub has been encapsulated and PSA/DNA graded GOOD 2, with a PSA/DNA Auto certified as 8. Here is your chance to possess a piece of perfection.
