Presented is a Lou Gehrig signed (measuring approx. 0.75x1.5") leather cut on a 3x5" index card. Gehrig, "the Iron Horse," played 2,130 consecutive games for the New York Yankees, the all-time consecutive game mark set in 1939 until Cal Ripken Jr. broke the record 56 years later. Gehrig was a tremendous hitter, usually batting as the clean-up hitter when he and Babe Ruth both played on the Yankees. Gehrig became a tremendous power hitter, with 493 homers before his ALS illness forced him to retire at 36 years of age. Gehrig hit .340 lifetime, with an amazing OPS of 1.080. Gehrig was a 2-time American League MVP, won a Triple Crown, was a 7-time All-Star and a 6-time World Series winner. The signed leather on the index card has been encapsulated and certified SGC "A AUTHENTIC," and the item comes with both the aforementioned SGC certification as well as a JSA certification.
