Collection of six uncut panels, each picturing two players, issued as supplements in the Boston Sunday Post in 1909. Each supplement features two panels, both of which picture an "action" photo of a Boston Red Sox player, together with his respective portrait image. There is one duplicate panel, therefore ten different players are represented here. Each player is identified in print below his image, along with his respective position and team affiliation. The collection consists of the following ten supplements:
1) Tris Speaker/Harry Lord; 2) Eddie Cicotte/Harry Niles; 3-4) Heinie Wagner/Frank Arellanes (two examples); 5) Edward Spencer/Chech; 6) Jake Stahl/Bill Carrigan.
These supplements (14.5x9.25") are printed on thin newspaper stock and are extremely susceptible to handling wear. As such, all display small edge tears which have been repaired on the reverse with clear tape, as well as a few light creases. However, the central image areas are generally free of any significant defects and have an overall Excellent appearance.
