Index card signed by Hall of Fame outfielder Harry Heilmann. PSA has encapsulated the card and certified the signature as "Authentic." Heilmann's signature, which appears on the lined side of the card, has been scripted in pencil and grades 8/10. Heilmann, who is one of only eight modern-era players to bat over .400 in a season, died in 1951 at the age of fifty-six, but wasn't elected to the Hall of Fame until the following year. As a result, his signature remains one of the scarcest of all prewar Hall of Famers. This card is part of a much larger signature collection compiled by our consignor's father in the late 1940s ("The New England Autograph Collection"). All the items from the collection are featured in thirty-one separate lots in this auction, including many prominent Hall of Famer autographs. The index card (5x3") displays a very small, light diagonal crease near the bottom border that does not detract in the least from its overall Excellent to Mint appearance.
