Babe Ruth was the highest paid baseball player of his time. Once, when Ruth was asking for a raise to $80,000 a year, a reporter was critical of Ruth's demands, and asked if Ruth knew that he was asking for a salary that was higher than the $75,000 salary of the United States President at the time, Herbert Hoover. Nonplussed, the Babe replied. "I know, but I had a better year than Hoover." Ruth made lots of money and he spent lots of money, so a Ruth signed United States dollar bill is a most fitting remembrance for the Babe. Ruth's 714 home runs came during a career when, in one season, Ruth would sometimes hit more home runs individually than a number of other American League teams put together. With a lifetime pitching mark of 94-46 and a career ERA of 2.28, it's no wonder that some many experts consider Ruth the baseball GOAT, the Greatest of All Time. The ball is also signed by Pro Football Hall of Famer Ken Strong. Strong played college football at NYU and led the nation in scoring in 1928 with 162 points. In the NFL, he played for the Staten Island Stapletons, and the New York Giants. In the second American Football League, he played for the New York Yankees. In the NFL, Strong was a 4-time First Team All-Pro and the league's scoring leader in 1933. He is a member of the NFL's 1930s All-Decade Team. Famed sportswriter Grantland Rice called Strong and Jim Thorpe the greatest football players of all time. Babe Ruth signed the offered dollar in ink on the upper left in his usual beautiful script. Ken Strong signed the dollar bill on the right side. Strong's signature, in black ink, is neatly written. The dollar bill shows wear and was clearly folded at various points. The upper right corner of the bill is missing. The dollar has been encapsulated by PSA/DNA, and the Ruth/Strong signatures have been PSA/DNA certified as AUTHENTIC. On one dollar bill are the signatures of the legendary Babe Ruth and football great Ken Strong.
