Rare full Ticketron ticket
(6.5x2") issued for the Heavyweight Championship bout between champion
Muhammad Ali and Chuck Wepner, held at the Richfield Coliseum in Richfield,
Ohio, on March 24, 1975. Graded NM-MT 8 by PSA. This is the ONLY example graded
at this level by PSA, with NONE graded higher. This is an exceedingly rare full
ticket to this bout as evidenced by the PSA Population Report, which lists
just one other example. The bout against Wepner was Ali's first title defense
after defeating George Foreman in the famous "Rumble in the Jungle."
Although Ali battered Wepner for fifteen rounds before knocking him out, the
fight was notable because it marked one of only four times in which Ali was
knocked down in a professional fight. The bout was also purported to be the
inspiration for Sylvester Stallone's classic boxing film "Rocky."
