1. 1880 admission badge designed for club members and produced by Tiffany & Co. “Coney Island Jockey Club” is shown around the perimeter. in the center oval is a horse and mounted jockey to the right. Underneath the date appears Tiffany & Co. The reverse states “members pass not transferable.”
The badge was valid for each day of the meet. Hall of Fame racehorse, Luke Blackburn, won three races. Jockeys McLaughlin & Costello were the leading jockeys and the Dwyer brothers the leading owners.
2. CIJC club patrol badge #40 designed by N. Stafford, 66 Fulton St. NYC in 1880s.
Badges are all excellent with #1 having beautiful eye appeal with lustrous surfaces.
