"Learn to play this fiddle," wrote Charlie Daniels as he inscribed this offered autographed fiddle. The fiddle was won in a 2012 "Charlie Daniles Signed Fiddle" Sweepstakes, and Daniels uses a black marker to personalize the fiddle by writing "To Richie," and adding his above-mentioned inscription. Daniels was born in 1936 and he was an active musician for more than five decades. He recalled how he got his start when he said, "We didn't have a garage to rehearse in. e had to aggravate the folks in the house. But I got a chance to play in a beer joint, and that's how it started." Daniels. He played in many musical genres: southern rock, country, blues, bluegrass, and gospel. Daniels was an instrumentalist, a singer, and a songwriter, and he played fiddle, guitar, mandolin, and electric bass. Daniels most known recording was his Number 1 country hit "The Devil Went Down to Georgia". Another famous Daniels song is "Uneasy Rider". Many of his hits are attributed to the Charlie Daniels Band. Daniels was a big sports fan. He recalled his own early interest in baseball when he wrote the foreword to the book The Tobacco State League, and Charlie was in the Hank Williams Jr. back-up band on the recording to the introduction music for Monday Night Football. Daniels is a member of The Grand Ole Opry, the Music Hall of Fame and Museum, and the Country Music Hall of Fame. He passed away in 2020.
