The 1881 & 1882 badges with the original strings attached were for the entrance to the grandstand, quarter-stretch, paddock and clubhouse. The admission tickets are all individually marked designating each specific day of the meeting. A complete strip of four admission coupons for the entire first summer meet of 1880 are consecutively marked the first through fourth day and are together as one block, with dotted lines separating each. For 1881, the 1st summer meet consisted also of four racing days and all tickets are intact. For 1882, there were 17 racing days and tickets are likewise intact. The badges and tickets are all in mint, superb condition with only notations being actual hand signatures of Withers. This lot presents a terrific opportunity to own unmarked, extremely rare, and unique signed badges by one of the most famous racing individuals of that era, plus unique entrance tickets of a famed racetrack from the early 1880s.
