Pittsburgh Pirates home jersey dating from the mid-1960s. The white flannel vest-style jersey is lettered "Pirates" across the front and features the number "23" on the left breast and reverse. Located on the left front tail are a "Rawlings size 42" label and a laundry tag. The combination of style and tagging lead us to believe that this jersey is from either 1966 or 1967. There is no flag tag (listing the set number and year) adjacent to the laundry tag, as we have seen in other examples from those two years, but there is no evidence of one having been removed. Therefore we believe the jersey is original as issued. Moderate wear is displayed throughout. Two players wore number "23" for the Pirates between the years 1966 and 1967: George Spiggs (1965-1967) and Don Bosch (1966).
