In 1992 Leaf issued a special 14-card set titled the Heritage Series. What made the set unique was that each player featured in it was pictured wearing a replica uniform from his respective team's past while holding vintage equipment from the corresponding era. Offered here is the St. Louis Browns uniform (jersey and hat) worn by Cal Ripken Jr., as well as the glove he held, while posing for the photo used to produce his 1992 Leaf Heritage Series card #BC-7. The replica 1951 St. Louis Browns road jersey (#1/8 on reverse in honor of Eddie Gaedel) was produced by Mitchell & Ness, while the matching cap was crafted by American Needle. (The jersey can be easily photo matched to the card image.) Ripken has signed the jersey in black-Sharpie (8/10) on the left shoulder. The MacGregor Goldsmith Grady Hatton store-model G19 right-handed fielder's glove worn by Ripken during the photo shoot displays moderate-to-heavy wear, but is complete with no tears to the lacing. Both the jersey (size XL) and the cap (size 7 3/8) remain in Near Mint condition. Accompanied by Ripken's 1992 Leaf Heritage Series card.
