Jim Hart was an undrafted free agent who became a top NFL quarterback as a prolific passer. He played 19 NFL seasons, all but one with the St. Louis Cardinals. Hart was a 4-time Pro Bowl selectee and threw for 34,665 yards in his career. Displayed is the Byron Whizzer White Man of the Year Award for 1975. Whizzer White was the 1937 Heisman Trophy Runner-Up, and he was a star back in the NFL for both the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Detroit Lions. He attended Yale Law School while still playing for the Lions and he later became an Associate Justice for the United States Supreme Court. The Award, now named after Alan Page, is given to the NFL player who goes beyond the call of duty to offer community service to his hometown and team city. Other winners have included Archie and Peyton Manning, Roger Staubach, Bart Starr, Willie Davis, Floyd Little, Reggie White and Drew Brees. The trophy's base is 10", and its height is 18". The award shows extensive wear, with scratches and loss of paint on the statuette. The wood base has some nicks. The statuette is broken at the ankles. The inscription on the base of the award reads, "The Honoree For 1975 Is JIM HART St. Louis Cardinals June 1976 National Football League Players Association." The Award comes with a Letter of Authenticity from Collecting Investments and signed by Jim Hart.
