Rare pair of real photo postcards signed by Hall of Famer Satchel Paige. Measuring 3.5x5.5", one is a head-and-shoulders portrait while the other is a posed action shot of him following through on his delivery. Each is signed in the top right corner in black ink, Best Wishes from Satchel Paige. One of the most successful players in the Negro Leagues, Paige is shown in Cleveland Indians uniform; his first Major League team was the Indians, for whom he played in 1948 and '49, becoming only the seventh Black player in MLB history and the first Black pitcher in the American League.
