When The Beatles played their August 23, 1966, concert at Shea Stadium, it was only a little over a year since their inaugural Shea Stadium concert in 1965. By 1966, The Beatles were an even more established world phenomenon. The night concert featured Bobby Ebb and The Ronettes among the opening acts, and over 44,000 people attended. Sound systems were primitive by today's standards, and in such a large stadium, it was difficult to hear the group from the cheap seats. The Beatles themselves even had a hard time hearing their own singing. The Beatles sang 11 songs, and their set included: She's A Woman, Paperback Writer, Nowhere Man, Long Tall Sally, and Day Tripper. During the rendition of Day Tripper, the stage was rushed by hundreds of fans, but security prevented any of the fans from reaching The Beatles. The 1.5x6.25" full ticket includes a small black and white photo of The Beatles. The ticket is signed on the back in neat, bold, dark blue or black ink, by Sid Bernstein, the famed American music promoter and manager, who changed American music by being the first promoter to bring rock acts to large stadiums. Ticket prices for the concert ranged from $4.50 to $5.75, and this ticket, for $5.00, was for an Upper Reserved seat. The full ticket has been encapsulated and graded by PSA NM 7, Pop 1 - Highest Graded, with a PSA/DNA Certified signature by Sid Berenstein as AUTO AUTHENTIC.
