Original Type I photo of the Wright Brothers presenting a flying exhibition for King Edward VII of Great Britain in Pau, France, on March 17, 1909. King Edward is seen standing in the center as he observes Wilbur airborne in his plane. Following their success at Kittyhawk, the Wright Brothers achieved international fame and were feted overseas by both the public and members of royalty. King Edward made the trip to France with the express purpose of meeting the brothers and they were more than happy to give him a personal demonstration of their aeronautical abilities. Five Brown Brothers credit stamps appear on the reverse, along with the year 1909 written in blue pencil, and a lengthy handwritten description of the event. The photo measures 7.25x5.25” and displays a few light surface wrinkles. EX. Culled from the legendary Brown Brothers Photo Archive. PSA encapsulated as Type I Authentic.
