Original Type I photograph picturing a partial model replica of the RMS Titanic. As noted by the brief handwritten caption on the reverse, this model was used during the Senate Commerce Committee inquiry investigating the Titanic disaster. The hearings ran from April 19, 1912, to May 28, 1912, during which time over 80 witnesses gave testimony regarding the causes of the disaster that resulted in the loss of over 1,500 passengers and crew. Three Brown Brothers credit stamps appear on the reverse, along with a few editorial notations. The photo measures 7.25x6.5” and displays a few small edge tears. VG.
