Original Type I photograph picturing New York Giants second baseman Larry Doyle in 1912. Doyle is pictured holding a bat on the sideline prior to a game. Giants pitcher Hooks Wiltse can be seen in the background. Two Brown Brothers credit stamps appear on the reverse, as does Doyle’s name and team affiliation written in pencil. Although no year is listed, the uniform style shown here was only worn by the Giants in 1912. Doyle enjoyed an outstanding fourteen-year Major League career (1907-1920), nearly all of which was spent with the Giants. A former National League batting champion (1915), Doyle retired with a .290 lifetime average and 1,887 hits. The photo measures 4.5x6.5” and displays a few light surface wrinkles. EX. Culled from the legendary Brown Brothers Photo Archive. PSA encapsulated as Type I Authentic.
