Great circa 1910 original Type I photo of Hall of Famer Robert Bresnahan. Sepia-toned specimen measures 6x4.25" and shows the catcher warming up between innings as umpire and packed house look on. Though he was a versatile player, appearing as pitcher, catcher, and outfielder during his career, Bresnahan is perhaps best remembered for being the first catcher to introduce shin guards (shown in this image), and he also developed the first batting helmet. History notes that he first wore shin guards in 1907, so this may show that very first pair. Verso has IDs with Brown Brothers stamps, PSA encapsulated as Type I Authentic.
