Franklin Roosevelt started the 1940 Major League Baseball season by throwing out the first pitch and we have the photograph to prove it. With Bucky Harris and Joe Cronin by his side, the ball has just left FDR's hand in this 7x9" example from the Brown Brothers Archive.
Hobby fresh example features Brown Brothers stamp along with hand written "1940 starting the baseball season" notation in pencil on the verso. Although not graded by PSA, Lelands guarantees this is a Type I example; few light creases at the corners noticed.
