Nice close-up shot of the batting grip of Tris Speaker, circa 1910s. Part of a series taken by photographer Charles Conlon with close-ups of pitchers and hitters' grips, with several others being offered in this auction. Speaker's face is not visible but his hands are, as a circular crop mark on the photo draws attention to his hands on the bat. Trimmed to 6.25x5", minor creasing is evident and reverse has the subject's identification along with other marks. Though it does not have their stamp, this is from the Brown Brothers collection. PSA Type I encapsulated.
