Phenomenal and rare piece of baseball history. Inspiring image of the first ever All Star Game in 1910 featuring some of the greatest players of all-time including: Ty Cobb, Walter Johnson, Tris Speaker, Ed Walsh, Doc White, Gabby Street, Billy Sullivan, Jake Stahl, Kid Elberfeld, Clyde Milan, Germany Schaefer, Bill Cunningham, George McBride, manager James McAleer and of course Harry Lord. [Sounds like a who's who of the T206 baseball card set, and of course Wagner is absent.] The stars played against the American League champion Philadelphia Athletics before the World Series. Connie Mack wanted to keep his team sharp for the series but lost the first four games in Philadelphia before winning the last one in Washington. It worked however, as the A's went on to easily defeat the Cubs for the World Series championship 4 games to 1. From the estate of Harry Lord, who played for the Boston Red Sox (1907-1910) and Chicago White Sox (1910-1914), the photo is mounted and measures 5.5x8". The photo was used in a news article, which comes with the piece. Type 1 image cannot be slabbed by PSA as it is mounted. However, Lelands stands behind the authenticity and will provide letter of authenticity upon request.

Emanates direct from the Harry Lord Estate who played at the time for the Boston Americans as their team captain. Came out of a country auction in the State of Maine where Harry spent his life in Kezar Falls. It was consigned by the Lord Family themselves.
