1947 Jackie Robinson Type I photograph from April 10th, 1947, pictures Robinson in a Montreal Royals uniform outside the Brooklyn Dodgers clubhouse on the day it was announced that the Dodgers purchased his contract.
Very rare paper caption on the back is dated "4/10/47" and reads, "Jackie Robinson, first baseman for the Montreal Royals, stands by the Brooklyn Dodger door Apr. 10 at Ebbets Field. Branch Rickey, Dodger Mahatma, announced the the Flock had purchased the contract of Robinson from the Montreal Club. It is highly likely that Jackie will be on the initial sack when the Dodgers begin their season."
Measures 7x8.5" overall and has been recently Authenticated Type I and encapsulated by PSA.
Vertical crease on right side noticed but does not harm the overall appearance too badly. Comes with PSA LOA as well.
